Welcoming

Mainly a garden day. First Saturday for ages that I’ve been here but not gone to the market. Not sure whether the blockades are going to carry on next week - which could somewhat impede Mr B’s journey to work on Monday (though, spoiler alert, another impediment is coming).

So, gardening, squash salad on the terrace for lunch, some lounging in the sunshine, then more gardening and I have mostly won the battle against the sage bush.

Later, during dinner prep, a text brought the irritating news that our neighbour’s kids have broken our car window. They cracked the Saab one a while ago and I told them playing football in the car park was probably not the best idea. The parents response then was a shrug and “oh just claim it on your insurance”.

We’ll see how that conversation goes tomorrow (I couldn’t face it tonight). At least this time the kids seem to have owned up. But it makes the airport run on Monday morning tricky/drafty.
