Posh Mountains

A very productive wedding stuff day today.

We've been looking around the swankiest hotels Muscat has to offer for our post wedding ceremony meal. We've already booked a lovely room in the Chedi but it thought we'd see what the Shangri-La and the Al-Bustan had to offer.

They are both 6-star hotels, which I thought was funny. It seems the Omanis think the standard international 5-star rating just doesn't do justice to their above average efforts! As it turned out, we weren't too impressed with either of them. The decor is just a bit, well, Arabic.

The Chedi on the other hand is very modern and contemporary and suits our vision (if that doesn't sound too poncy) of the day much better. The only thing is, we'll unfortunately have to knock a couple of people off the guest list to fit inside the smaller-than-we-hoped-for room. (Don't worry Mum, you won't be one of them!).

It wasn't a wasted trip though. The scenery on the drive to these hotels is really quite breathtaking.
