Dancing in the Snow

Dear Diary,

"Learn to love the snow.  If you don't you will be miserable and you will still have the snow."  I fully embrace that concept.  I was reminded of that pearl of wisdom when I saw my little fairy on the fence post.  (I was also reminded that John will have to paint the fence this spring!)  

When my students would come to me whining about something I would say, "Would you like a little cheese with that whine?"  I have never been a whinner.  My grandmother would not allow it.  She believed there is always something good to find in every situation.  She would say, "You can't change the cards you are dealt but you sure as heck can decide how you play them!"   I've sort of lived by that all my life
