Tactile

I started the day 'down the town' with a colleague.

The rest of the day was at my desk and then to the 'Southsider' for a less than wonderful fish 'n chips before choir.

We were in St Peter's, where next week's concert will be. It was baltic, a cold draught down the back of the neck from the chancel, and slightly unsafe - no back stop on the staging. S was also very stressed (we are slightly under-rehearsed) and regretfully regressed to primary teacher mode. That the cold and standing for almost 2 hours made it a less than pleasant experience.

However, you know what they say, 'bad dress rehearsal' and all that.

I was standing beside/holding on to the pulpit, an amazing artistic confection of marble, granite and semi precious stones. It dates from 1865 and isCaen stone pulpit on marble shafts by Poole.

I was glad to get home for a heat up of Spanish hot chocolate and French Armagnac.
