Christmas Stockings

Our new Christmas stockings arrived today! A year ago, right after Christmas, I had this vision of knitting three matching stockings for Ron, the baby and I. I figured I had a whole year to do it so it wouldn't be a problem! I bought the yarn and found a pattern but it just never came to fruition . . . in fact I ended up using some of that yarn for a beanie for Alana.

This year I still really wanted matching stockings so I decided to just buy them. I really like these needlepoint ones - from Land's End - which came with free name embroidery.

Next year, I'll splurge on new stocking holders (I really like the pewter ones over at Pottery Barn but they are rediculously expensive and I don't even know if we'll have a house with a mantel a year from now so it doesn't make sense to buy them at this point. Plus, I'm limiting myself to one major Christmas decoration purchase a year - it's tempting to go overboard because I love the holidays but we have lots of time ahead of us to acquire stuff.)
