After the early frost it seemed a lovely afternoon for a walk through the old oak wood in Dalkeith Park. While doing so I noticed some orienteering marker posts so went back to investigate and decided to do a relatively easy one. I had done one a couple of years ago and enjoyed the challenge of navigating from point to point using a map as quickly as possible using an electronic puncher to record each post. I missed one and lost time going back to search for it but have decided if I do it again I’ll do a more difficult course. If I was very much younger and fitter I would like to take up the sport.
The photo shows the puncher which is worn on a finger.
