Inspired by Long Meg and her daughters

We re-visited this stone circle today. The weather was cold and moody. It is impossible not to be inspired by this ancient monument. This old ash tree has been absorbed into the magic of this special place inspiring visitors to leave prayer rags on its branches. My prayer is that this ash will avoid the disease that is creeping North and killing many examples of this noble tree.

Nearby, Little Salkeld Mill provided the essential warming bowl of soup and wonderful home baked bread.
