Blending with the Crowd

I hoped the wetlands would produce some crowds of birds for Mono Monday - they were there, but somehow I could never find the right angle to catch the true density.  I'd love to know the rules for who is allowed to stand next to whom - some species are very cliquey and others don't seem to mind muddling in!
