Arachnophobia alert
These tiny spiderlings must have only just hatched, and are clinging to their mother's back. And this was the sight that met me when I opened our letter box today.
The spider is a common or garden huntsman and they don't generally bite unless under attack.
Here's the back story.
In Australia, our letterboxes are at the gate, and are commonly locked. SO - in order to save time and fuss of going inside to get the key, coming back outside to open up and get the mail, it's been my habit to shove my hand in through the letterbox opening to grab the mail.
Maybe that's not such a good idea!!
