One street #3 - El Perxe de Ca Gatet

In the old part of our village there are nine perxes, one of which is at the end of our street and is shown here, with this front door being in the centre of yesterday's photo. A perxe is a stretch of street covered with beams and/or stone arches, so that the houses are built over the street. Here there's an arch both to the left and to the right and a straight bridge over my head!

This is what the village website says about it:-

Perxe de ca Pam o de ca Gatet: En la seva major part és de pedra amb trossos de mamposteria. Té dos arcs un de mig punt i l'altre de cardenell, que serveixen per suportar les bigues de fusta.

p.s. in Catalan an 'x' usually (or always, I'm not sure) makes a 'sh' sound.
