for Rodney
I know the main snap here is pretty poor quality - but did still want to post it, just to mark a really, very memorable tribute afternoon we attended at the weekend ...
... the man at the lectern is Tom Sawyer, who was the main speaker at a Scottish-event, to mark the life of Rodney Bickerstaffe, who died in October last year.
Not long before then, back in late January 2017, I had the very good fortune to sit next to Rodney for the duration of a [luckily!] lengthy Burns Supper event (see 'old' extra) --- he was *such tremendous* company; and simply exuded passion, warmth and humanity :-)
I'll always remember that evening; and on Sunday, Tom spoke with great fondness for a man he clearly loved as both a colleague and very good friend. I can understand why.
