Road Closed

The flood waters are receding but very slowly. No one had to wear uncool wellies to get to school today. The main road has been shut for 3 days now causing traffic chaos across the city. It was opened briefly this morning for drivers 'at your own risk' but they speeded along through deep water in the gutters at the side of the road soaking the beleaguered residents of this area so the police closed it again.

I just went out to try and get a picture of the moon reflected in the flooded allotments but the moon was too high..... twice in 10 minutes I narrowly escaped being soaked by drivers who had ignored the 'road closed' signs and were racing along.... quite incredible and disheartening to see so many people behaving like this.

The water in the garden has gone down a few inches - tomorrow I should be able to wade out and see if my recently purchased mower has survived the floating shed incident. I'm hopeful it might have...
