Delivered
Tuesday.
The boss is on holiday and so I'm the "big cheese" in her absence.
As I arrived at work, some council workers turned up and lined the street with cones to stop any parking. A 40ft Christmas tree was being delivered later in the day and they wanted no traffic. Most Tuesday members have little or no mobility and I was concerned about them arriving and leaving the club. Mr council worker was most understanding and agreeable when I went out to talk to him so there were no problems.
Then the husband of one of my members collapsed just as he delivered his wife to the door. Not a good start to the day but a few phone calls later and the situation was managed.
Then we heard the news that a member died over the weekend. This member was a "someone" and prominent in a famous incident in British history. I was in awe of him. A remarkable man.
M-in-L was transferred from Glos hospital to a care home near us and we went to meet her arrival at 6pm.
She will be there 2 weeks by which time a room at our first choice home will be ready for her.
She arrived in very good spirits and with non stop chatter.
It was very cold as we left and sleeting too. Brrrŕrr.
