Langford's Store, Collingwood

On our way to the Heaphy Track, we visited this quaint store. It's part store and part museum, and is a great place for tourists to get a feel of how life was in early colonial New Zealand.

From here we drove to the carpark which is 5 minutes walk before Brown River Hut, where we spent our first night on the Heaphy Track.

Our car was then transported for us to the western end of the Heaphy Track, at Kohaihai Bluffs, so that we'd be able to continue on our journey. Managing the beginning and end of the Heaphy Track is always a problem that everyone needs to solve, one way or another. We did initially have a 3rd person coming with us, but he became ill a while back, so we had to pick up the cost of the transfer between the 2 of us that remained.
