Water under the bridge

"The hardest thing in life to learn is which bridge to cross and which to burn." David Russell

Which reminds me of a poem by Dorothy Parker which always makes me laugh, and I think I have used it in my blips before but there is no harm in repeating something that makes One smile now is there?

Sanctuary

My land is bare of chattering folk;
The clouds are low along the ridges,
And sweet's the air with curly smoke
From all my burning bridges.

Dorothy Parker
