Farm shop

Once upon a time we had a wonderful farm shop and cafe. And then along came the plans for HS2. Packington Moor Farm Shop and Cafe was a casualty and the owner headed for Gloucestershire to start all over again.

The staff from the cafe were rapidly snapped up and now work for a lovely place on a local strawberry farm. (The Strawberry Cabin in Hints.)

So what happened to the butchery department, with those marvellous cuts of beef, pork and lamb? They used to have serious and genuine reductions and their chickens, sourced from Shropshire, were succulent and super quality.

One of my friends who also swims outside in the lovely pool, told me about Forage, the deli at The Coppice Garden Centre complex in Middleton. They now have 8 of the Packington Moor staff, and I went over this morning.

Great reductions. And I’ve just squeezed them into the freezer. Big smile.
