"They want me back"
Much has been made over the last few days about, about the plea from Tarita Alarcon Rapu, to return her ancestor.
The governor of Easter Island wishes that Hoa Hakananai'a should be returned to its home.
Sitting in The British Museum as it has since it was plundered as a gift for Queen Victoria, it's hard not to agree with her request.
Many of the artefacts in the Victoria and Albert Museum for example, are plaster replicas made by by wealthy young people on their 'grand tour'. Why not make a copy of this fine fellow, then give him back.
