Sentimental objects

It's interesting what objects I get attached to.
I have had this Stanley knife since I was 18 and in 1st year at Edinburgh College of Art. It saw me through 6 years of work there cutting mounts for endless pieces of work (most rather dubious, a minor few stand the test of time, all playing a part in some sort of creative development of the self) two year Artist in Residence at a School in Helensburgh and now 9 years at Garvald.
The last 3 working rather hard cutting mounts for the Christmas Bazaar and a few exhibitions.
There is a good one in the workshop, sturdier, but this is my old faithful and has never let me down. I keep it hidden in the studio incase it ever feels like a wee wander as stuff tends to like to migrate in our building now and again. I tend to believe this Stanley is like the storks of Marrakech who are so comfy they have lost their migratory instinct and just stay all year round.
