Biscuit drama
Mom's stove "blew up".
Okay............... that is an exaggeration. The element blew, in the midst of her Christmas cake baking.
The devastating moment, happened on Tuesday last week. She contacted the stove manufacturer, to arrange for the part to be replaced. She gave them the number of the part etc. expecting them to "fix" the stove on Thursday. (They come to Springs once a week).
The reason she KNOWS the part number................ it's NOT the first time, the element has "blown". The original element lasted close to 20 years. The replacements, we're on our 4th, last around 18 months and cost an arm and a leg.
So why are my biscuits being baked in someone else's oven ?
Because, they came to LOOK AT THE STOVE. Yes, they never brought the part........ Mom was really angry. And I needed a plan B, to avoid STARVING.
Sally's oven was the lucky oven, tasked with cooking my biscuits.
The catch.........
Sally asked how hot the oven should be. I replied 180 degrees C. Okay, she said................ I'll put them in at 170 degrees C.
This statement did come with an explanation, that her oven ran hot.
Well, it didn't.
My biscuit drama will continue for the whole of this week. The biscuits are "RAW". Yuk !
Let's hope the stove manufacturer get's it "right", this week Thursday !
