Brightening my day
A couple of things brightened my day today. The first was meeting Chris on the way back from an errand-led dog walk. I see him a lot from the car, always busy tidying up the streets of our village. He said he loves working outside whatever the weather and was dropped off every day locally, today to sweep up and bag the now slippery leaves from the pavements. He told me how much he loved nature and reeled off a whole list of birds he'd seen recently from Lister Park while he had lunch. We had plenty in common!
With three jack russells of his own, he was quick to say hello to a damp Little Dog who thankfully seemed to recognise him as friend. A lovely warm fellow who seemed to have a little piece of heart for everybody.
The other was mum and dad who stopped in on their way home from the Lakes. Apart from their outdoor adventures, they'd had their trip brightened by the running legend and 36-year record holder for the mammoth Bob Graham Round, Billy Bland. He was out fixing his roof as they were coming back from a walk and keen to ask about their day.
One famous, one now famous :D
Both coming across as unassuming, genuine people.
