Ice and Sun, Shadows and Light, Cold and Warmth

I was up just after sunrise this morning, around 9 o'clock. It was -10C so there was a good frost and I went outside to look at and feel the beauty. As I was looking the sun crept around the corner of our house and created this pattern on these panels that form the side wall of our house. The shadows of the ice crystals were much bigger and easier to see than the crystals themselves.
This is the side wall, so the back wall had the sun shining full on it, and as I was looking at this frozen wall I could hear the ice melting and water streaming from the sun-warmed back wall. All very elemental...
