And these are .....?

I did not recognise these when I saw them in my friend's  garden - looked a bit like apples, a bit like pears, the colour of lemons.
I had heard of Quince - but did not know they looked like this.
I  tasted it this week - my friend had chopped it into chunks, put it in a baking tin with lemon juice, sweetener, honey, and dots of butter, sprinkled mixed spice and cinnamon on the top and baked it. Served hot with plain yogurt it was delicious - smelled and tasted like Christmas! She gave me these two to make my own - tomorrow I will.
