just a fork in the road
I'm bending over trying trying to take this with my phone, when I'm aware of a pair of legs - or rather trousers, red corduroy - in my peripheral vision. It's the last thing I want because I feel pretty daft doing this anyway, without an audience looking on.
"That looks intriguing."
It's one of those accents. I could be listening to someone from an episode of Poirot or Father Brown. Not that I have anything against those accents. It's just not what I expected to hear in the car park of Costco. But then I don't get about much.
"It's just a fork in the road." I reply.
"Oh jolly good". And the trousers are gone.
