2000 Man

Back from the North today which involved another 200 miles through the M6 car park road works. We set off early as the engineer was due round this afternoon to fix the faulty gas fire which is now working fine (faulty connection where he had extended a cable to reach the electricity supply). We got back to discover our next door neighbours had had a burglary yesterday; in some ways we weren't surprised as they often go away and always close the curtains when they go which, to us, is a dead giveaway that the house is unoccupied. There is another neighbour a bit further away that leaves their curtains half open, half closed when they go away; they'd may as well put a sign in the window saying 'House empty, please help yourself'!
