An interesting

evening conducting mock interview practice for pupils from local schools. I was teamed up with a mathematician: between us we chatted to candidates for Maths. Economics, Sociology (the other place) and Computer Science. 

The last made me chuckle. Question: is there an algorithm to solve every problem. Answer: yes. Really? Certainly. Brexit? Well, it could be done, but not in the time available. Cue a discussion of polynomial time. 

They were all impressive - it would be wonderful if they all got offered places.
