Oamaru

I spent last night in Waimate. Hung around there until midday to pick up a parcel for a friend then tossed a coin to decide where to go - up to Kurow or down to Oamaru.

Oamaru won.

I headed out this evening to a local pub for dinner, walking through the steam punk playground to get there. There is a series of pillars there covered in locally created tiles. A neat art installation.

The pub I was headed to was closed for a private function. A pity as they do great food and their blue cod dinner (which I haven't yet tried) has been highly recommended by a friend. I wandered further along the road to another pub and was going to try their blue cod instead - but the lambs fry won my order. Darned good it was too.
