The Pope’s Swiss Guard

A rainy start in Rome but his holiness awaits and by 9am we were with our tour guide entering the Vatican City. (Along with hundreds, no thousands of others)
Having a guide was great and the Sistine Chapel was one of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen and not what I expected.
St Peter’s Basilica must surely be the largest cathedral in the world.
The rest of the day was spent meandering and eating and drinking with a final flourish on the Spanish Steps.
