Ted Visit's Hebden Bridge!

We has an outing today to Hebden Bridge and what a great way the sat nav took us over the Long Causeway. This information is what was on the plaque next to the needle.

The large scale replica of a Fustian Needle points true north directly towards Nutclough Mill, former home of Hebden Bridge fustian manufacturing society.(founded in 1870). In its day the largest worker-producer co-operative in Britain. Fustian is essentially heavy cloth such as corduroy. The needle originally a hand tool latterly incorporated into a loom cut loops in the weft to create the effect on the cloth.

You do learn some things on mine and Teds outings.
