Hobblers do the Skipton Santa Fun Run!
I've laughed till my jaws ached today. The Hobblers set out early to catch the train to Skipton to take part in the Santa Fun Run. There was much amusement from fellow passengers. Once in Skipton we dropped off our bags at the Town Hall and took our place in the pen on the High Street. It looked like a scene from a festive Where's Wally and we kept losing Hobblers and then finding them again. After a warm up from the stage and photos with Billy the Bantam, it was time for the off - 1800 Santas of all ages, sizes and running abilities. There were some pinch points on the canal paths; a picturesque walk beneath the dizzy heights of the Castle; much divesting of costume bits (felt is very warm to run in!) and then there we were running through the crowds back in to the centre, high-fiving youngsters and receiving our very fine medals from the Mayor! Cuppas and toasted teacakes in Hetty's Cafe and we were back on the train and home. Fabulous day! #hobblersrock
