Gold in Bolton

Not the heavy rain of yesterday. It feels a little colder today, but I am wrapped up for my Sunday ride. I initially head out through Gilmerton, Dalkeith and Cousland, just like last week. I'm not planning on doing a long ride as the rain might become more persistent. So while I am on the Humbie road, I turn off and head through West and East Saltoun. On the Gifford road I stop to get my blip. The clouds are very grey, and the rainbow brightly pointing out gold is in the wee village of Bolton. I don't want to get too wet. So instead of turning left to head to Samuelston, I turn right, and head SW to Humbie. 

From Humbie, I loop babk on my self, and instead of heading back to Dalkeith, there were a couple of temporary traffic lights, I decide to take a left and cycle to Pathhead. From there I cycle to Ford, then SW passing Vogrie Country Park to Gorebridge. From there,its along the Top Gear road to Braidwood Bridge, then home through Carrington, Roslin Glen, Roslin and Bush and Hillend. A bit worried when I see the Seafield Moor Road is shut. However, there is room for cyclists to pass through.

The distance, just over 81.1km, just over 50 miles, which takes my annual distance on the bike to just over 6,000 miles.

In the afternoon, I pop down to Morningside to pick up some coffee, then I walk down to a cycle shop near Tollcross before meeting my partner for afternoon coffee.

Therefore, its a meal out at Pizza Express in the evening, followed by watching the Super G from Lake Louise and posting the weekend blips. Work tomorrow, but its only a four day week.
