Very British

I bought this book for my lovely friend as a little pick me up for her first chemo session. I was looking for something humorous, and knew this would fit the bill. My mum and I had a little chuckle when I brought it home at some of the anecdotes inside. 

My friend is now five days post-first chemo, and doing amazingly well. No nausea, no sickness and is her usual bubbly self, save for a little fatigue. Although we did joke "do you think maybe they've given you the placebo version?"! 

I'm just praying that they all continue the same way, although I wonder if it's a cumulative effect and that it gets harder the more you have. But we're not going to worry about that. Each day she feels well is a blessing, after all she's got sixteen weeks of this to get through. 

Anyways, a good friend of ours went with her on the day, and she loved the book too. So a relief all round ;-)
