That was close...

The Rooster was rowing today at the Glasgow Rowing Club Heads Race. He and his crew mates were heading down river in the first division whilst another boat was heading up river.

Rooster and crew did take the curve quite wide but were not the only crew to take that arc today. The other boat from where I was stood were quite far out in the river to be rowing against the flow of a race...

Anyway, there was some anxious shouting from the St.Andrews Suspension Bridge to alert both crews of the impending collision! Who’s was thankfully avoided. Although it cost the boys a few seconds!

When our boys lifted the boat out of the water they discovered that they had lost their rudder...which explained to the cox why he’d had difficulty steering!

Grateful not to have witnessed my Rooster and his crew mates land in the Clyde.
