Thorphinsty day three
Turning round in the kitchen I came eye to eye with a robin, standing off-offhandedly between me and the haunted kettle*. "It's you or The Large Munsterlander," I explained, "and the LM has big teeth, eats pheasants and weighs six stone."
He saw my point and flew upstairs to the master bedroom where he was next seen peering down from the four poster. A sort discussion between him and G and he agreed to leave by the bedroom window.
A later conversation with the neighbours established that the three houses that make up the hall are dominated by a family of squabbling robins and that kitchen doors have to remain shut at all times.
No photo of the robin. Instead, the crinkly tin shed at the top of the drive.
*The kettle is haunted.
Winster valley trees in extras.
