Canal de la Deûle

The Citadelle de Lille is surrounded by water including this canal. The Citadelle was built between 1667 and 1670 and still hosts part of the French army a zoo and wonderful surrounding walks.

We are now home having had a great breakfast, lunch and shopping foray on a grey drizzle day on Flanders. We are glad we had an incident free trip and are now all stocked up for Christmas and beyond. The only delays were of course on a British road (M20) coming home.
