Kelso Abbey

BB’s football was in Kelso this morning, so we three all headed there, hoping that the rain would stay away.  Once we found the place and were parked up in the mud, TT and I went for a wander, while they had a pre-match warm up.  We bumped into a posse of football parents outside Greggs, where TT was heading for a coffee and a bacon roll.  They had got there before us!  TT headed back to the match before me.  I wandered and managed to buy an overdue birthday present.

It was a good match and BB’s team won, so they were all happy.  Unfortunately the rain had started about ten minutes before the end, and we were all soaked, so were all keen to get away quickly.  Typically the weather brightened up and we had a lovely drive back up the road via the supermarket and were all starving and ready for a late lunch.

Once he was clean, BB watched a movie and I went out in search of some steps as my step count has been poor this week – I put that down to the weather and not feeling well, as I have not managed any running this weekend. As I passed through town I remembered that the Christmas lights were getting switched on tonight, but I didn’t linger.

I came home to cook tea and to be entertained by BB’s cello practice.

Later we watched David Attenborough.

Here is Kelso Abbey from the memorial garden.  I spotted the seat in the extra on my way back to football, as I walked past the cricket pitch.  A little bit of history.
