Tree lights 2018

Our annual “piano by the light of the tree” photo marks the “mummy’s real camera is close to hand” period of the year, often referred to as “Christmas”, or “advent”. It’s not decorated but I love the tree with only it’s lights and plan to enjoy it like that for several days. Plus Katie absolutely squealed with delight when she went in and saw the tree and piano lights this morning.

She did fabulously this morning; despite sleeping in she still managed to get up and on in time to practise both instruments before school, walk in the rain to school and just about be on time!

She was mortified when she came home today- she’d dropped in her test scores for her times tables this week (where speed matters more than accuracy, apparently) and was name-shamed by the teacher to the rest of the class. She’d got one wrong.

Tonight was her final class in her old grade at ballet, doing blocking for the performances on Saturday. She’s also delighted as she and another friend have been allowed to dance in the performance with their new grade (they’ve been doing the classes as extension for a year so know the syllabus). But she’s front centre for her grade and back row for grade 4!
