Deck the Deck

Well, that makes no sense, does it? It's just that we've had a new deck on our front porch for a year now, and it's so nice and solid. Lettercarriers don't baulk at stepping on it to reach the mailbox, and we don't worry about people getting injured, let alone suing us. But, you're right, it's not to be seen in this picture, so it's a silly title.
I tried to come up with something to say about a photo with both fall leaves and Christmas lights, but the picture itself saves me the trouble.
Just like D saved me the trouble of coming up with all the equipment necessary for making my first batch of soap at home - she loaned me things. Thanks, D! I made the batch after our field trip to Shay and Company for supplies.
