Cafe Society

I’m sure in the olden days cafes and coffee shops were hotbeds of creatives, revolutionaries, poets and thinkers, artists, writers and musicians. They would engage in animated discussions, debate the hot topics of the day, plot change and make plans.

Today It seems they are full of laptop wielding home workers, plugged into their own soundtrack, isolated from the real people in the room. I’m sure they were all doing interesting and worthy things but it’s just not Jazz. I blame Wi-fi and the smoking ban.

We were in Hot Numbers, I bought H breakfast as she kindly brought my laptop in as I’d forgotten it!
