Adam and Matt

The four of us met for a Thai lunch at Matt's brother's restaurant, and we talked energetically for a couple of hours: about their wedding; about Jayna, whose gifts we are still receiving a year after her death; about the process of mourning and the wisdom of Thich Nhat Hanh's reminders that this moment is all we ever have; about all that we love and want to protect, including the children and families seeking asylum, families at whom our government fires chemical weapons. It is a horrible time to be a US American, and yet we have arrived at this moment and must do the work of resistance all the ways we can.

It's also important to rejoice when we can, to find our laughter, to play, to strengthen each other and share "small happiness" in our connections.
