What does one do, if one finds out (purely by accident) that one is about to be shafted by a person who is supposedly a friend?

It's not actually going to make my life any different - it has just dented my somewhat Pollyannaesque view of people...

I think I'm going to adopt a glacial attitude - and let her wonder what (and how) I know!
