Compare and contrast

The shops are all getting organised with their Christmas trees.

It's interesting to see the different ideas and varying amounts of enthusiasm that have been directed at this festive task. (A short sociological study would not go amiss?)

Here at Lows, there is a second tree, with lights, which is under this green cover. I asked an approaching friendly employee if there was going to be a grand unveiling. He paused a while and studied the display, but had to admit he really didn't know.
