Sheltering at Haydon Bridge station

It was blowing a gale in the cold and dark at Haydon Bridge station this evening, with the rain was swirling in all sorts of directions. I took shelter under this wooden canopy while I waited for my first train of two back to Edinburgh for just one night. I have returned home on my own this evening so that I can deliver five hours of undergraduate teaching on campus tomorrow.

Meanwhile Mr hazelh has stayed south with my two sisters, one brother-in-law, and my mother as my father slips into a deeper decline. That said, Daddy hazelh still knows what is going on and is able to talk to us when he is awake.

Tomorrow is going to be a long day of teaching and travel for me.

Exercise today: minimal walking (7294 steps).
