African Ladies

I continued work on my new painting today. It’s my first new painting since I got home from Africa. It will part of a benefit show early next year for the Bellingham law advocates. The theme is “Van Gogh.” We get to decide how to relate to that theme. I’m thinking of color, patterns and brush work as I paint this. I’m having fun with this one.

I forgot to mention that my model for this is a photo I took of four of the ladies who sang and danced for us in a village in the Okavango Delta. Several of us gals took turns dancing with them. Then one of the men in our group danced with them and sang them an American folk song. It was the highlight of our day.
