Tussock Tales

Broom

This yellow mass is not a native to New Zealand but was imported by the early settlers as fencing material along with Gorse. The climate here was somewhat more supportive than where it came from and both these shrubs became a major problem in New Zealand and still are. Farmers hate the stuff as do folk who suffer from Hayfever but Photographers .........Hmmmmm?
This image was shot this morning as we were travelling over the Crown Range to Queenstown to pick up The Bossess who had been playing away in Auckland. I was very excited about this as she had mentioned taking me walking and The Boss had taken her sneakers so she could change out of work clobber.
So...when we arrived it was hot and windy and it was emergency coffee (The Bossess has a lot of emergencies you know) then shopping, so I was left in the car while they did The Warehouse and watched the temperature drop and then the rain do the same.
So you win some and you lose some. Sigh!
Memo to The Bossess...You owe me I believe.

Move closer and take a deep breath.
