No glass today

The plan was to go glass hunting with the experts in Seaham, but to say the weather was against us is to put it mildly. We were heading for Newcastle this morning, but the strength of the storm and the closure of the A66 meant we had to sit it out at home for a few hours.

When things had calmed down a bit and the A66 was opened, we set off straight for Seaham and Stuart’s wonderful home, where the decision not to go to the beach was a good one. We get such a lovely welcome and we not only saw the fine models which have featured in many blips, but we also saw the empty loft and Stuart’s excellent watercolours.

After fish and chips in South Shields, we are heading for the Malmaison in Newcastle - there’s posh!
