Blickling Photo Shoot
Today the camera club went to Blickling for a photo shoot and a chance to take photos round the house without other visitors and using tripods. The Georgian themed decorations were mostly up and I did enjoy attempting to take some photos. Please see a collage in Extras of some of the paper decorations the wonderful volunteers have made, including two amazing 'outfits'.
Unfortunately it wasn't quite as we expected though. There were 9 of us and they only had one guide with us, not the promised two and we had to stay together in one room - so we were in each other's way a lot and struggled to get the wider shots as there was always a photographer in the way. The visit was supposed to be 1.5 hours long, but we got chucked out after an hour and 15 mins. We were supposed to see more rooms than the 5 we did, but they weren't ready. And the light was so low in the house that even with tripods it was a real challenge. So all in all at a cost of £18.50 each with no discount for being a National Trust member, it was a bit disappointing. However, the lights at Blickling are lovely and I would definitely recommend a normal visit which is no extra charge to NT members.
