Inkblot or iceblot?

What do you see in this image? No, it's not a variation on the inkblot test but a frozen puddle on our local golf course.

The recent heavy rain followed by severe frost has turned our steep road and equally hilly golf course into one huge skating ring.

So, it was a case of on with my ice grips and off to go yet it only seemed like the other day that I put them away from last winter.
