All quiet on Seil Sound

A dull day today, but breathlessly still. We drove down to the Isle of Seil, to a Craft Fair held in the Community Hall in Ellenabeich. The name comes from the gaelic Eilean-a-Beithich or Eilean nam Beitheach, meaning 'The Island of Birches'. Most of the village site was once an island, but the dumping of spoil from the local slate mines has changed the topography quite a lot over the years.

Today's Blip is of a lagoon in Seil Sound, the narrow waterway which separates the island from the mainland. Yachts and buildings are reflected in the almost totally calm water. What a change from last week!

Just out of shot to the right is the famous 'Bridge over the Atlantic'.
