Lets go Sapphires!

Almost back to normal now after our hols!

A really early start for a Sunday, especially for those competing in the UK Cheerleading competition in Manchester. Emily and her Mum & Dad, and no doubt all her teammates, were up before 6 so they could register by 7.30a.m.! We didnt get there until 10, that was early enough!

Its become a real big thing cheerleading over the last few years. Emily, seen here second from thr front with Sapphires, belongs to Gemstones Cheer & Dance. They have six troops, Emeralds are the teenies, then Rubies, Sapphires, Diamonds, Jets and the senior team, made up of some Mums!!! All of them danced in their relevant categories today and did so well, especially as this is the first major competition. for some.

Overall, they had mixed results, a first, two seconds, a fourth, a seventh and a last, but thats not as important as the enjoyment, the exercise, teamspirit and camaraderie which is just so lovely to see!
