Muttrah
One of the treats of visiting Oman is getting to see Muttrah!
After a leisurely start, we headed out to Muttrah - mainly to visit the newly renovated fort and then to have Afternoon tea at the also newly opened after a period of renovation - Al Bustan Palace Hotel!
The fort had a big climb to it, but we all made it when plenty of energy to take in some spectacular views on a beautifully bright and clear day. Both G & I had our cameras, so we happily clicked away. Hilde was very patient!
There's a picture of what I am told is an old warehouse in the extra, and also, a picture from our High Tea which was fabulous! Great service from a top-notch hotel, and because we happened to mention we were there to celebrate a special birthday, they brought Geraldine a piece of cake. She had to blow out a candle too! We had so much to eat, that was all our food until the next morning.
We drove around a little taking in Oman's National Day lights. They celebrated 48 years of nationhood on 18th November and the decorations will soon come down.
